The Hubbub has now concluded.

Welcome to our CityStudio Secondary School Pilot!

An innovation hub where UFV & Rick Hansen students experiment and solve community challenges by collaborating with City of Abbotsford staff in the design and launch of solution prototypes.

This semester (Feb-June 2022) CityStudio Secondary has 2 challenges:

Circular Economy & Sharing Economy
How might we utilize goods & services in order to maximize their use?
  • What can we share access instead of individually owning things?
  • What do we have as excess/extra (maybe waste?) that can be used by another?
  • How can we get the most value possible from resources?

How might we identify and find ways to break through barriers that exclude residents from participating in our community?
  • What types of barriers are there?
  • How do people participate in our community?
  • Can we remove the barrier or reduce it?
