Abbotsford’s oldest historical building, Turner House, has been moved to its new home at Clayburn Park as part of the City of Abbotsford’s efforts to honor heritage in Clayburn Village.
Turner House was moved on June 27, 2018 in a delicate process that included transporting the house on special risers and a wide truck. Minor construction on the Turner House is planned for November and December 2019 including:
Bringing electricity to the building
Protecting the house from rot and mold by ensuring proper air circulation
Filling any gaps in the house to prevent any pests from entering
Wrapping the outside of the building for weather resistance
Minor repairs to the roof to protect the building from rain, snow and sunlight.
