Clearbrook Rd between Marshall Road and King Road is classified as an urban collector road within the City of Abbotsford. This section of Clearbrook Road is a key north/south route in the City’s truck and goods movement network.
In recent years, commercial trucks have been using the centre two-way left-turn lane as temporary parking while accessing adjacent fast-food restaurants and other businesses in the area, leading to poor visibility and numerous traffic incidents.
After careful analysis, the City and the Ministry of Transportation and Transit have concluded that infrastructure changes are required to deter and mitigate the issues. Access management will be implemented through a raised concrete median, signage, and pavement markings on Clearbrook Road between Marshall Road and King Road.
A civil consultant has been contracted to develop the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for the project. Currently it is in the design phase, with construction procurement scheduled for August 2025. Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2025.
