Abbotsford is experiencing significant impacts of climate change, including the very recent floods of November 2021 and December 2025. Abbotsford has also experienced the impacts of extreme heat, wildfire, poor air quality and others. As a community, Abbotsford has the opportunity to become more resilient to the impacts of climate change. The City of Abbotsford is committed to doing what it can to protect our community and the environment in the face of increasing risks, which is why we are working on developing a Climate Resilience Strategy.
The Climate Resilience Strategy (CRS) will be a plan to help Abbotsford prepare for, adapt to, and reduce the risks from climate-related events like floods, wildfire, extreme heat, and storms to keep our people, places and systems safe and strong. How can I get involved? We want to hear from you! At this stage, we want to hear your experiences, concerns, and ideas to help us protect our community from climate-related impacts and other hazards.
