Consultation has concluded

Culture programs, services and resources are essential to a vibrant and healthy community. Culture builds civic pride, celebrates diversity, shapes a City’s health and identity, and attracts talent and investment for the City to grow and prosper. Culture brings people together, creates conversations, and helps us learn from one another.

The Culture Strategy will build on previous City plans, strategies and policies and will provide a vision and an action plan for strengthening culture delivery and services in Abbotsford.

We are happy to announce that Culture Connect, the City's first Culture Strategy has been approved by Council on March 7, 2022.

The final Culture Strategy can be seen here: Culture Connect

Cultural Asset Mapping

over 2 years

Cultural Asset Mapping is the process of collecting, recording and synthesizing information in order to describe the cultural resources, networks, links, and patterns of usage of a given community or group. Through this exercise we can see where there are gaps and community needs. This exercise will also assist us in understanding our cultural ecology. We have placed pins from community feedback received during our public workshops throughout February and March. Help us ensure that we collect all relevant data and have your say!

  1. What we want your help with is to Observe where arts, culture and heritage assets currently exist.
  2. Place a Pin on any arts, culture and heritage assets that may not already be indicated. Please describe.
  3. Place a Pin where you would like to see future arts, culture and heritage assets developed. Please describe.

Arts, Culture and Heritage assets may include, but are not limited to: events, infrastructure (such as galleries, museums, theatres, arts schools, etc), public art, community initiatives, community gathering spaces, experiences and places of cultural significance.

Use the toolbar on the left of your screen, to drag your pin to its location. Make sure to describe your asset!
