**The period to share your feedback on this project has concluded and we thank all residents for their input. Detailed design of the Montrose Transit Exchange has been completed. Construction of these improvements will begin in January 2024 and complete in Summer 2024. Please see attached Notice of Construction**

Planning is underway for a new transit exchange on Montrose Avenue between McDougall Avenue and South Fraser Way. The need for a transit exchange in this location was identified in the City's Transportation and Transit Master Plan and in the BC Transit Future Action Plan to support the future transit network, accommodate the increase in service levels, and improve the customer experience.

There is an opportunity to partner with senior levels of government on this project and there are many attributes to building a new exchange that the City would like to get public input and feedback on. Exchange features under consideration at this conceptual stage are:

  • new shelters and benches
  • new universally accessible wide sidewalks
  • electric vehicle charging stations
  • bicycle lockers
  • undergrounding of the overhead utilities
  • improved lighting
  • new landscaping
  • new crosswalks and wayfinding signage
