The City of Abbotsford is planning a new neighborhood park in the McKee Neighborhood area to serve the needs of local residents. We are seeking input from the community to help inform how we design it.
The new neighbourhood park will be located near the intersection of Dawson Road and Sumas Mountain Road at 36676 Dianne Brook Ave. The park spans approximately 2.6 hectares within a quiet single-family neighbourhood. The park will have a large forested natural open space with a smaller cleared area for park amenities and programming. Residents’ creativity will be essential to unlocking the full potential of this new neighbourhood amenity.
At the northwest corner of the site, along Dianne Brook Ave, a smaller flat area will serve as the park’s main entrance and hub for amenities. This space is envisioned as a welcoming gateway, offering access to the natural areas to the south while also providing a place for gathering and connection.
These distinctive site conditions present an exciting opportunity to design a park that prioritizes access to nature, enhances connections to nearby homes, and creates a meaningful community space connected to a larger natural environment.
We want to hear from you!
Attend the In Person Event: Tuesday, May 26, 2026 3:30pm - 5:30pm 36676 Dianne Brook Ave.
Take the survey or ask a question from May 13 - Monday, June 1, 2026.
Following this initial round of community engagement, City staff will develop a preliminary park design to be shared with the public for additional input. A detailed design is expected to be finalized early next year, with construction anticipated to begin shortly after.
