The City's growing population and increasing development activities are creating a number of challenges for our trees. Development, installing water and sewer utilities, invasive species, tree diseases, aging and climate change are all creating a challenging environment to grow healthy trees.

    Abbotsford’s Draft Urban Forest Strategy includes five goals with associated strategies and actions recommended to achieve each goal. All strategies and actions will be implemented over time, but some need to be prioritized before others to make implementation manageable for staffing and budgets.
