Crosswalk needed immediately at dangerous intersection

Install a crosswalk and traffic control devices on Townline rd. At Upper Maclure rd. This will assist residents SAFE crossing to use bus services on either side of Townline rd., access schools, temple, neighbours etc.

Pedestrian controlled flashing lights desperately needed at Whatcom- Lower Sumas MtnRd

This is a dangerous crosswalk! We have lost count of how many times we have almost been hit crossing this fast-paced thoroughfare. We almost always need to actively get peoples' attention before we dare to cross the road. Also the boulevard plants can obscure the visibility of pedestrians, adding another layer to the challenge.

Intersections - Cycling Lanes & Bulged Out Curbs

Keep cyclists to the right of cars by creating an extra curb, with the radius of the existing curb, connecting the cycle lanes of both streets. To accommodate pedestrians, shift back the stopping line and add a zebra crossing. This format solves several problems: 1) A right-turning car can make eye contact with a cyclist because both people can look to the front. 2) Left-turning car lanes do not need any additional space. In addition to improvements on Whatcom Rd add a digital speed sign for traffic going up the hill.

Rainbow crosswalk by Centennial Park

Last year, the students of Centennial Park Elementary proposed that the new crosswalk located next to their school be a rainbow crosswalk, as a sign of inclusion and solidarity with the LGBTQ2 community. I encourage the City to affirm its young citizens and implement the rainbow sidewalk by the school as part of this project.
