An Official Community Plan (OCP) amendment application has been submitted to change the land use designation for 1911 and 1919 Jackson Street from Urban 1 – Midrise to Health Campus to facilitate the development of a long-term care for seniors, daycare for older adults and childcare centre.
The subject properties (1911 and 1919 Jackson Street) are located adjacent to Abbotsford Regional Hospital, south of Marshal Road and accessed via Jackson Street.
The subject properties are currently designated as Urban 1 Midrise under the Official Community Plan. The Urban 1 Midrise land use designation permits the accommodation of multi storey buildings including low and mid rises up to 6 storeys.
The applicant is proposing an OCP amendment to change the land use designation from Urban 1 Midrise to Health Campus.
The Health Campus land use designation supports rezoning to facilitate developments containing single or multi storey buildings including low or mid-rises up to 6 storeys. Where land is designated Health Campus, redevelopment is supported based on the following guidelines in the below table:
If the proposed OCP amendment is approved by Council, the applicant proposes to rezone the subject properties from Assembly Zone (P3) to Health Campus Zone (P8) to facilitate the development of a long-term care for seniors, daycare for older adults and childcare centre, in a 6 storey building.
We invite you to review the proposed OCP Amendment and provide your feedback below, which will be collected and used to identify key community concerns, and where appropriate, inform revisions to the proposal before it proceeds to Council for consideration.
