The purpose of the Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan is to guide future planning of parks as well as recreation and culture programs along with other community services over the next 25 years. The plan will help ensure residents continue to have access to high-quality spaces, programs and services that support health, well-being, community connection and quality of life as Abbotsford grows to a population of 250,000.
The plan will with the vision set out in the updated Official Community Plan and will identify future programming needs and facility upgrades and infrastructure investments needed to support the community’s evolving needs.
The updated Master Plan will build on the direction of existing plans and supporting strategies. Work on the Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan update will begin in 2027 following the completion of related strategies currently in progress.
Plan for 2050 is about planning ahead, working together, and creating a city that continues to be a great place to live, work, and grow, now and for generations to come.
