We’re nearing the end of Abbotsford’s Official Community Plan (OCP) Update process!

To accommodate growth in the coming decades, Abbotsford is updating its OCP and using community input to help shape the future of the City.

The OCP is the City’s key planning tool and was last updated in 2016. The Abbotsforward 2050 OCP update process is building on what's working well and looking at ways to better address the challenges and opportunities of today and tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback on the draft updates to the Official Community Plan (OCP) and related Zoning Bylaw changes during the May-June 2025 engagement period.

A summary of the feedback, along with recommended refinements to the draft updates, was presented to Council at the Regular Council meeting on October 7, 2025. Explore the Stage 3 Engagement and Refinements Report.

At this meeting, Council directed staff to move ahead to Stage 4 of the project. The next step involves preparing formal amending bylaws for the OCP and Zoning Bylaw, which will be brought forward for Council's review at a future meeting.
