Abbotsforward 2050 | Official Community Plan Update

We’re nearing the end of Abbotsford’s Official Community Plan (OCP) Update process!
To accommodate growth in the coming decades, Abbotsford is updating its OCP and using community input to help shape the future of the City.
The OCP is the City’s key planning tool and was last updated in 2016. The Abbotsforward 2050 OCP update process is building on what's working well and looking at ways to better address the challenges and opportunities of today and tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone who attended an open house or provided online feedback throughout May and June 2025!
Next steps involve City review of community feedback and preparing a report to Council with the Stage 3 engagement findings. This fall, staff will present OCP and Zoning amendment bylaws to Council with the final proposed changes, followed by a Public Hearing and Council consideration of adoption.
